I just found out my IFS date is March 2013 and UPT May 2013. I commission 3 May 2012. Is it possible that this is just a place holder date and that I could be called up for sooner dates?

It's possible, most of the ROTC guys I know didn't wait a year to start UPT but it happens that way sometimes. Same with Academy guys. As you get closer to your start date it will probably change a little, I got bumped up a class and a lot of other people I know had class dates shift before starting.

I have heard the place holder thing get tossed around a few time at our detachment. I got Columbus and am scheduled to go to IFS May 21, 2012 and UPT on July 23(0r 24, don't remember). When I looked up the class dates at Columbus, the graduation date they gave me at the det. was different from what Columbus had listed. So I am sure ours will change.

Are you guard or reserves? If so I would be getting in touch with your training office and bringing that to their attention. I'm really not sure how that's even possible.

I'm ROTC going active duty. Again, I have yet to get an EAD so maybe there's hope my class dates might be bumped up or I go on casual status. (Fingers crossed)

I know nothing about AD or how casual status works, but something has to give there, especially considering the rather practical matter of, wouldn't you still be finishing your last semester during March? Either way good luck.

I graduate 3 May 2012 and my dates are IFS/March 2013 and UPT/May2013. It's weird because the other dudes going to UPT in my class leave within a month of graduating.
