Can't say I've heard "tonic" in the East. All NYers say Soda. I can't imagine anyone going over there saying pop. I honestly (seriously honest) believe no one would understand what you're talking about if you ask for pop at a store.pretty sure the east coast hip thing is "tonic"

Yeah, I was thinking more of a lollipop in any case, you're right. I don't know.....but I had never heard anyone call lollipops "suckers" until I got here. Anyone care to disprove me on this? We call lollipops suckers in California.
Also, there are even differences in vocabulary between Northern and Southern CA - in Northern CA people refer flip-flops as "thongs" (usually older generations...40 year olds and above). In SoCal, it's just flip-flops. If you say you're wearing thongs to the beach in SoCal people will look at you funny.
God......I still remember that song.........sooooooooooo annoying. That was like a decade ago. Time flies, good god.
