USS Harry S. Truman Collision

Impeccable priorities haha

We had a CAG discharge his combat issue SIG sidearm into a ready room chair when he was fiddling with it before a mission a number of years ago. Don't think he was relieved, but ever since, you can guess the weapon condition we were authorized to fly with it in. Obviously personal technique "varied", to include not obeying that instruction

I actually heard that exact story from Gash two weeks ago talking about dumb senior leaders we’d have to deal with over the years.

Typical dumb response. Pistols are always carried in battery. One person with an AD shouldn’t change that. Personally, wouldn’t have bothered with a SIG in the first place, but you guys have no control over that. Not like the situation we had in OEF 1, first deployment.

Which person of King Neptune’s underlings did you get to play? Did you get to punish the wogs well?

I was a lowly wog when we crossed. Persian Gulf to the coast of Somalia and then crossed enroute to Perth.

I guess I was fortunate to cross the line as a midshipman. It was on the Kitty Hawk, and I distinctly remember several days on that short "summer cruise" when the ship was dead in the water. I guess nukes are good for something

lol…. “Sh*tty kitty” is how my roommate referred to his ship. Was interesting / fascinating watching its disassembly over YouTube over the course of a year. Even got to see one of my ships disappear within 2 episodes during the kitty disassembly at the same breaker yard.

Was pretty bummed during a recent Philadelphia overnight. Went over to the navy yard and seeing the cruisers laid up there - next to Kennedy. I remember seeing the same cruisers when they were “brand new” freshly commissioned.

Now Kennedy’s gone missing from Philadelphia - off to the breakers

Nah, it's time to fill in your AirlineApps.

Mr. Crozier is about one of the humblest, most smooth person that just emits leadership out of every pore of his body you’ll ever meet.

That sentence doesn’t make any sense but I’m not rewriting it.

That was that to which I was referring, though I would happily draw a distinction between a politically-motivated relief such as his and a navigational incident such as this, too.
