User Fees for Aircraft Owners

Anyone located at airports having user fees for aircraft owners? If so what is the cost.

29G (Portage County, OH) has a user fee (three steps: casual, frequent, twin) Cost is $300/yr for casual, not sure on others.

I've never heard of an airport charging "user fees" to based aircraft. If I'm based there I'm paying for tied down/hangar and buying their fuel. Why should I be expected to pay a fee on top of that?

I bet this is a case of non-flyers on the county board looking for a way to "make the airport pay for itself" and ignoring the other revenue brought to the community (car rental, hotel, meals, business deals, etc.).

If my airport tried this, I'd first look to move and if I found other airports did the same it would probably be what it took to get me to consider selling my plane.
