USAR C-12 Openings?

I'm an active duty UH-60 IP/TACOPS guy leaving active duty soon to fly for the airlines and am interested in continuing service in the USAR. I'd prefer to leave the Black Hawk and get a C-12 AQC so I can keep both my full-time and part-time job airplane-centric. Anyone aware of any units looking to hire and train C-12 pilots?

West Virginia? There is an FB page called "Army fixed wing pilots" you can join.

You really just have to ask around/call around.

Please don't commute to both jobs or you will hate your life.

I am avoiding that at all costs; seems like a great way to hit burnout and make the family resent me.

I’m definitely asking around and have one lead so far, but I’m trying to explore any and all opportunities in order to find the right fit.

I can tell you the reserve unit at Knox is pretty loaded with talent buy undermanned. That said, they are pretty close hold about guys off the street.

That’s unfortunate because that’d be my number one choice for units to work for. Definitely not impossible but it sounds like an uphill battle to get in the door there.

I’d more just expect them to want character references not 7 layers removed. Obviously that’s harder unless you just knew a guy from flightschool or something when you’re talking about crossing the active/reserve/Guard fence for another side.

Plus side is you don’t have to be a C-12 guy to get there though. The friend I have was Apache then 60 IP. Never even sat in a fixed wing until the course.

I completely understand where they're coming from -- you show up as either an asset or a liability and the latter is probably hard to get rid of. That said, I just need to get ahold of their hiring POC and at least get a face-to-face and provide a resume, OERs, 7122, 759, etc.

Knox huh? This makes me think you're working at PSA through RTP, if so, welcome, they're actually pretty good about mil leave too.

If you have fixed wing Army time, Air Guard hires, the tanker units around those parts might take you since you're an officer.

Fort Knox, KY not TYS.

I'm going to be working out of ORD, Knox would be easily commutable by plane (SDF) and drivable if needed.
