CHARLOTTE, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The US Airline Pilots Association (USAPA), representing the pilots of US Airways, today announced support for the conditions imposed by the Department of Transportation (DOT) on US Airways’ proposed slot swap with Delta Airlines. They are trying to save their NYC and BOS bases, however, the company is going to close the bases regardless.

If it would be uber-profitable for the company to close LGA and expand PHX while increasing revenue exponentially and returning US Airways to profitability, USAPA would oppose it.....

Actually, PHX has been shrinking since the merger. Ma and Pa Kettle don't actually make the airline that much money on their $199 round trip ticket. Business travel where the Benjamins are at. And at one point in time Airways actually had a pretty good product for the business traveler on the East Coast.

Not so much so anymore.

Yeah, it was more of a hypothetical to show USAPA would shoot the company in the foot if it meant a reduction in the East guy's QoL.
