I've been on both sides of the game... Working at the Elmendorf AFB Air Operations Center in AK, we would track Russian Bear "ADIZ Pens" ("penetrations") across the pole or over the bearing sea, and launch our F-15s to go say, "Hi!". (F-22s, now). Working at the Hickam AFB AOC in Honolulu, we would schedule these FON flights for our west-pac areas of responsibility.

I expected this to be about not finding the right frequency for the respective "entry point" to China's airspace. They're one of those places you have to call ahead even though they know you are coming. Pain in the ass.

The South China Sea needs to be opened back up, because TRILLIONS of dollars of goods go through there.
