US Airways Pilot Keeps American Pilots Off His Jumpseat

Yeah, if you consider losing % points, being displaced out of your category and base, and going from 6 months to upgrade to 3+ years "winning," I guess I won.

The 777 and 747 fences did nothing but keep the senior guys insulated in their categories. They were senior anyway. Who was going to displace them?

Are you even off reserve yet, you winner? :)

Don't feel too bad, guys. Our average pilot lost 25% of his relative seniority, and we're still told that we "won the lottery" by the "hired not acquired" crowd.

How much did your average F/O pay increase? Let's say fifth year F/O. Max F/O? I've heard SWA F/O's make more than some Airtran Capts. I'm sure you have the details. All that said, it's just a job. If you can do better in the property management biz then more power to you. Just want to make sure people see the big picture in spite of your rhetoric.

Oh yes! These AE are killing me though. Feb AE, 11 senior out, 14 senior in. Mar AE, 8 senior out, 10 senior in. I 'm really not liking all this negative movement. What happened to "all the senior FOs will be bidding new captian seats." Those guys aren't going anywhere until some heavys come along.

Who cares how much you make if your QOL takes a huge dump?

A 25% loss of bidding power seems like it could totally change your QOL.

Not just bidding power, but even seat. Going from a mid-seniority captain to a mid-seniority FO is pretty brutal, but that's what many of our captains are having to deal with.

Assuming monthly guarantee first 5 years an FO will make $120k more.

Upgrade at 10 years, a new CA will make $50k more in the first year.

People who choose to have a good attitude about being crapped on are delusional losers. No thanks.

Ha. Whatever man. People who choose to be unhappy are the idiots in life. I've flown with a bunch of the miserable SOBs.

I'm happy, and no freaking airline merger is going to affect that in my life.
