Hi Doc,
When I'm not flying, I'm usually out hiking through the CA gold country which is blanketed with nasty poison oak. Despite my best efforts to avoid it, some of the places I visit are so rugged that it's impossible to avoid the stuff. In the past I've taken pregnizone for the resulting dermatitis, but I was wondering if there's any vaccine available to desensitize my immune system to the urushiol and prevent a reaction in the first place. If I take a commercially prepared oral product like Oral Ivy for extended periods, is there any chance that it can cause liver or other permanent systemic damage?
Thanks!
