any idea when the training class could begin? I'd imagine it would be sometime after Jan 1 and the holiday rush settles down
Did you get interviewed while you were still at IFOD, or was it after you had your certificate? One with Mesa, and I haven't heard back from anyone...
After I had it, but in school I did interview with ATI...Did you get interviewed while you were still at IFOD, or was it after you had your certificate?
Hey, did you ever make it to UPS? I've wanted to work there ever since I heard they were using LIDO (which I am currently teaching at my airline). I really don't like St Louis and I LOVE Louisville! I've been watching the website but there's been nothing recently.I applied today... One can hope, right?![]()
How is the current staffing? Should I be hopeful of something popping up in the near future? I'm dying to get to Louisville and already use (and teach) LIDO front and back office.Yes and yes. Assistants are moved up to dispatcher slots in seniority order as lines open up. We currently have no assistants on staff and need to fill a relief line this year.

We just hired a new class who are currently still in training. I'm not sure what is next in terms of hiring.
Me too.WOW I missed that memo.

Thank you Jay! I'm just sad for a missed opportunity, although I know there will be others. I'm still brand new to aviation and can't reasonably expect to get on with UPS any time soon. I just got my pilots license in 2014 and my Dispatch cert (and job) in 2015.Do not worry about missing a position. Right now you should be acquiring experience and knowledge until the next position opens. Always stay positive with yourself. You've came this far through schooling and such, that being pessimistic is detrimental to a long-term goal. While at it, help others succeed, enjoy others company, learn, make hobbies you thought you'd never enjoy, and fathom where you are in life. 80%-90% of the world population wishes to be in your shoes.
This also refers to individuals who have 10+ years DXing under their belt....
Like wise, I learned, developed and taught LIDO to the folks at F9 - before Republic killed the project.
There is nothing wrong with learning how a system works.
Also if you know or are willing to learn German, the folks at Lufthansa will probably be needing a permanent SME for North/Central America sometime in the future as they gain more customers.
They've got an AMAZING guy named BJ right now. He's got this awesome southern drawl and then he gets on the phone and starts spouting "Lido ist gerbrochen!" (or whatever) in what I assume to be very fluent German. It's a trip! The guy really knows his stuff!Like wise, I learned, developed and taught LIDO to the folks at F9 - before Republic killed the project.

By the way, CONGRATULATIONS! How do you like it there? An acquaintance/co-worker named Doug just started there a few months ago. I wonder if you've met him.I did, about 15 months ago
