Unsafe Airline Water

Who in their right mind would consider drinking tap water out of an airplane (e.g. lavatory) faucet?

That water is the same water that is pumped into the coffee makers, so it really doesn't matter what faucet it comes from. The source is the same.

As far as the blue juice, I find the taste far more unpleasant than the color it turns your toungue /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cwm27.gif

This story gets trotted out every few years. All's I know is I drank coffee made from water out of those tanks for 25 years and never hadddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd, (sorry small seizure) any health problems.

I do drink airplane coffee, which the water comes from "you know where".

I liken it to sushi. You certainly wouldn't eat raw fish from a dive bar in Tucson, but if you beer batter it and fry the HELL out of it you'll be ok.

Just like the water. If you heat the heck out of it to make coffee, it's palatable. Besides, on some of the morning pushes and late nights, coffee is a safety of flight issue!

Eating the food that the previous crew left behind in the cockpit is what builds the immunity system!

Did I ever tell you about the mummified whole sandwich I found in the engineer desk on the 727? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

No doubt about the immunity!

I was NEVER sick as a F/A. We'd find still-sealed first class trays that we had no idea how long they'd been out. But we were all so hungry we'd eat them anyway. Never had a problem. Warm cheese above the ovens? Mmm, cheese....... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I always figured it built my immune system up.

Work in a restaurant kitchen. You'll be immune to salmonela in a week. Trust me......
