Unreal - TSA

This is something I've honestly been worried about though, how hard would it be to obtain an airline badge, alter it, and reproduce it? I've often thought terrorist-trained pilots might use this to gain access. Anyway, hopefully as J said it's a temp fix until they can get some real security in place.
Well, probly not too hard but definately more trouble than its worth. I mean the only reason someone would want to create a fake SIDA badge would be to repeatedly get through security without having to buy a ticket or stand in line. If a terrorist really wanted to get through security, all they have to do is buy a freaking ticket. JUST LIKE EVERY 911 TERRORIST DID. Now if we're talking about FFDO credentials, that's a different story.

I've said it before and i'll say it again...The prerequsites for a job with TSA should be greater than a G.E.D. (that also goes for pilots).

TSA is part of DHS now...When I was in college I did an internship with the State of Connecticut's Department of Emergency Management and Homeland Security (DEMHS). A four year degree in a corresponding area of study was the bare mininum for employment, and IMO, TSA should be the same...

Unfortunately, it seems like more and more i'm starting to think that this country like to talk a lot, but were obviously not as serious about terrorism as we claim.

He could just paid the what, $10.00, for the new badge... and now he's got the rest of us throwing away our badge holders.

Yeah, except some thieves are pretty smart and have figured out that people will replace their stolen property within a month or two, and then the thieves will hit them again. Happens all the time with avionics, too; somebody'll steal a radio, the radio'll get replaced, and the thief will go back and swap the stolen radio and the new one, leaving him with a brand new radio that isn't on any stolen avionics list.

Uh, yea, but what if the new radio gets put on a stolen avionics list? Why would a thief give back the old radio anyway?

If the owner replaces the stolen radio with an identical radio, the thief can swap the new one for the one he stole, the owner won't even notice that it was swapped and will assume his radio is the new one he just put in and won't report it stolen. The thief then makes off with a brand new radio with a "clean" serial number.

Ah, I get it now. I guess I'm not the best person to think of a good scam like that one.
