Unprecedented Movement at Southernjets

Somebody help me understand why it matters how many apps delta has on file? If it's 4k, or 400k. Either way it more applicants than pilots needed at the current time. And as previously mentioned, a good Portion of those have apps in at other places, and will go there if called first.

Because many people think it will be beneficial to them in some way if there are less apps on file.

I feel like I'm gonna go past that point. If the rumors are true about the payrates we'll get at the new Vlaska with the contract by October, 6th yr CA rate would be hard to let go. It would be a paycut until upgrade at any of the other legacies. I always thought I could use the upgrade as a catalyst to go to the big 3, but now I'm not so sure. Lots of moving variables to think about, but I think an upgrade here may end up being the so-called 'golden handcuffs'

You at at a Legacy man, its way different

Are you saying there are guys at regionals saying they can't afford a paycut for Delta? Wow if true that is sad. The paycut is factually true for first year at best. 2nd year at Delta (or any of the legacies) probably hits or breaks what the most senior average RJ CA makes (barring super senior ckairman, milking system guys, etc) and even then 3rd year pay would surpass anything they made before at a regional.

Nearly every CR7/9 Captain I flew with at XJT said they couldn't take the paycut and QOL loss to move on a Legacy. Now with the massive reduction of XJT DCI flying many of those folks are scrambling to get an application and logbooks together.

I know you flew with guys at 9E that were the same way. Not even talking about the old senior close to retirement guys, I'm talking late 20s to mid-30s supercritical wing tactical operator that hasn't kept a logbook since they got hired.

Oh ok. I gotta be honest, I heard a lot of that in the 2007-2011 timeframe at 9E, but I left very early 2012. Although to be fair, the legacies at that time were operating on BK contracts, severe stagnation, furloughs, minimal to no hiring, economy sucked, etc.

2014-present....... whooooole 'nuther story.

That is a stupid argument as we all know.
Most people I know made the same or close to the first year as they did as an RJ Captain.

PM if necessary, but I'm interested in the rumors you're hearing?

I'm not hearing much, other than some griping. If the info you have is more intriguing than that, please share!

Just go live where you want to, get hired at a company that you want to work for, and don't look back. In 35 years it won't matter anymore anyway. Seniority is something that is most talked about, but it is something we have least control over.

Here's the deal with NYC. It's absolutely phenomenal for those of us that live here and despite what many think, you can raise a family in very nice areas within :30-1:30 from any of the airports. If you live in the vicinity, it entitles you to seniority on steroids at DAL. I'm about to be displaced to NYC320A with about 25 junior to me after 32 months on property. There are enough people that want different things that make it possible to get close to what you want around here even without being very senior. If you commute it's an entirely different story bc there are many early starts and late finishes, etc. Good luck

Just in the last year I've had a bunch of people who previously said they couldn't do the Atlas schedule suddenly showing interest.

Displaced to a Airbus Captain spot at Southernjets jets with no seat lock. You might be the biggest winner in the whole AE. Very very impressive at 32 months. Congrats.
