United q400 RFP

So my airline has rumors on this q400 rfp from united and everyone here has their own opinion. Some say we are getting them, some say we already have them and some say we already lost them. They,have,had this rumor since I was a newhire but this is the most serious it has been in a while. I know sapa and managment are going to the table soon to try and get a rate. My opiniom is colgan is thw favorite to win this but who knows.

What else have you guys heard about this? I'm sure we're not the only ones that have this rumor.

News flash, we are so poorly staffed and the merger has been so slow we'll be lucky not to lose our airplanes before Christmas due to poor performance and our mainline paycheck running out of patience..
 
Its bad everywhere. Smywest only had 30 reserves for all rj f/os a month ago. Running at 3% reserves.
 
but dont worry any of the previously talked about airlines will take all the eagle flying here soon too!!! :insane:

Maybe OH should put a bid in. We run our reserve bank at 35%. So many line holders call out sick the company needs that many people on reserve. Don't know if it is true but apparently the captain side is near 50% in DTW.
 
Everyone has a bid out. It's not for Q400s per se, it's for 'large turboprops'....ATRs are also in play here.

We will find out eventually, until then it doesn't matter much to me about the details. The only thing I know is I won't vote for anything less than Horizon Q pay if it ever gets that far or a new blended rate for all our airframes. BHO gotta go!

And yes Train - one list.

Remember, horizon has one less bid period, so the rates at far. Are a bit inflated.

No, horizon plus 5%.
 
No one carrier will win all the flying as it was awarded in the past. Just look at how all the airlines order things now, splits from boeing and airbus. If there is a UAL rfp for the Q, I expect it would be for about 30-60 of them with a split between skywest and pinnacle corp. That also allows UAL to bring them on more quickly if you split the deliverys up becuase lets face it, regionals cant staff for massive orders anymore.
 
Hmm...funny how one company's recent CPA with United/Continental allows for replacement of larger turbo-prop aircraft as old small jets die off...
