United, PAFCA reach tentative agreement

Something unions fought for, and still fight for.

Well, to be more serious, there is no major airline that has a pension plan for new hire dispatch employees that I am aware of. There is a 401K match, however I do not believe that that was changed any by the new TA.

There is.

And it makes sense that cargo carriers still have their pensions intact. After 9/11, boxes couldn't say "I'm not flying, there might be another attack"

Old sCO employees still have their pension, sUA lost theirs years ago, and all new hires on the sUA side since 2010 or after JCBA (no longer sCO/sUA split) in 2014 have been under the 401K match program.

Anywhere remotely close to Chicago in the state of Indiana is not somewhere you are going to want to live.

Actually there are several towns in Indiana that people seem to enjoy living in that are about a 45 minute drive to downtown Chicago. It's a bit more than I'd want to drive, but I think your real estate dollar does go farther there also.

This was not an entirely new contract, just an extension, primarily to adjust compensation to match DAL. Some minor modifications to vacation bidding were made but number of hours worked, days off, start times, etc. were not changed.
