United new uniforms

And I think Dave is mistaking the former for the latter because he’s bitter at literally everywhere he’s ever worked (in between bragging about how he gets to spend his reserve time sending it on mountain bike trails).

How’s that saying go, the only common factor in all your failed relationships is you?

SkyWest is still the best job I’ve ever had. I can’t recall ever complaining about it.

But I do speak up whenever I’m treated like poo. I won’t stop doing that either.

There's a distinct difference between say @Screaming_Emu and I sitting in a cockpit talking/having a conversation about our mutual love/appreciation of fast cars. Then the pics start coming out.

Vs. Captain Bob having an awkward captive audience and showing his FO his catalog of fancy things. Starting with his huge $500k house. His brand new ZO6 Corvette, his brand new tricked out golf cart. His new boat. His wife's new tits. And his HUGE financial portfolio out of completely random.

There's a huge difference between having a conversation and showing pics of your toys or talking about them and showing examples. VS. shoving them in peoples faces and obviously bragging.

Speaking of captive audiences, I asked my wife if she had shown her clients in jail her latest vacation pics.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better. 'Member when pretty and fun were GOOD and Russians were BAD?? 'Member??
Russians are bad mmmkay.

You've never shared the cockpit with anyone other than a CFI. Perhaps we should save the what-if stories until you actually have, so-there-I-was moments to dole out advice about interacting with coworkers on a flight deck.

And that is the equivalent to captains showing you their toys. You have the dream job for many in this region and you knock it saying you rather be at some regional. I'm sorry dude but you gotta get some prospective.
Like I told him, soft landings program, and he can probably manage ATL or DTW street captain on reserve. Then we'll see who's complaining ;)

But that’s the rub. I never said anything bad about the job. I alluded to the fact that I worked with clueless morons, who happen to excel at being airplane drivers. And when I say clueless moron I mean someone who can’t subtract 446$ from 700$

Whatever dude. I'm not going to go around in circles with you. You're complaining that you have to do walk arounds and have conversations with captains. Then you lash out at someone who doesn't even work at the same place you do as if they are keeping you down somehow. But you're right, everyone else is the problem.... Just like at XO. Just ironic that you will post on PPW about how amazing airline life is and here you make it sound like you are treated like crap because you have to do a walk around. GMAFB.

Your lack of intelligence is showing: I bought nice boots because it’s cold AF and I have to do walk arounds. It’s the job. I don’t recall complaining about it.

There is a difference between IQ and EQ. Generally pilots are high IQ and extremely low EQ.

A moron with a low EQ could for example listen to a tale of how is copilot is losing his home because of circumstances out of his control and still ask what kind of boat he is going to buy. Simply because his copilot knows how to and loves sailing. “Wanna see my cool boat?”

A moron could be someone who can’t understand how I spend 700$ on uniforms. This person could be low on both EQ and IQ. Possibly bad at math as well. Considering a leather jacket costs 446 dollars it leaves well, math to determine the amount left over for you know like, pants.

Or a moron couldn’t understand that riding bikes a lot on reserve isn’t the same as spending 1700$ in one year on uniforms.

It seems obvious to me. But words aren’t hard for me. Words were really hard for the morons at XO. They weren’t hard for the generally smart and hard working guys at SkyWest, I mean so far.

I’m sorry I used big words and alluded (oh there I go again with big words) concepts that take more than two brain cells to understand.

Back to the topic. I hope the United employees aren’t paying for their updated look. Because it sucks a fat one.

This does not include shoes, of course. Which change to brown next year I believe. I got some nice BLACK boots with wool lining for the SE trips and the walk arounds captains will never help with. 350$ down to 100$ at the Nordstrom Rack.
As for the rest, you may think you know how to use big words or whatever else that rambling was about but the fact is you don't know how to play in the sandbox with others. And that is a big part of this job, the biggest actually. I hope you can work on it. You'll be much happier when you figure that out, big words not required.
cheers

The common theme I'm seeing here is that you think everyone around you is stupid.

FFS. Read my post that triggered literally everyone. Show me where it says my job sucks. Then read the responses.

I think it speaks for itself.

BTW: 700-446 is 254 that would buy you a blazer. But hey tell me my math is wrong. Have fun with buying the rest but yeah. I guess by some sort of alternate reality guys don’t spend that on uniforms in 5 years including a leather jacket.

Captains helped with walk arounds at SkyWest. The current shop they don’t. I didn’t expect it either place but it’s a big cultural difference.

That's THAT big of a deal? I'll glady do some walkarounds versus being on hold for 30 minutes with scheduling, on hold with dispatch for another 20 because they didn't give us a required alternate, or dealing with some stupid write-up the FAs decided to tell me about right as they try to tell me they're ready to go.

It is interesting, Dave and I work for the same company and I am as cynical as they come. I freaking hated NetJets and would happily talk at length about why, but I have not experienced these captain issues at AS as he describes.

It’s not a big deal. I’m extremely sorry if this is difficult to understand: it does factor into the kind of work shoes I wear. The environmental demands in effect, cost money. Now I need to buy these items again because of the color change. That is a problem. I can say it really, really slowly if it helps.
