Same here.is there going to be another round of interviews for hiring? havent gotten tbnt, havent gotten next step either
To be completely honest the one answer that will most likely help resolve all your questions is this: do not expect an interview with UA (or any major carrier) without prior dispatch experience. They simply will not hire you without either being an internal employee, preferably in an operations role (crew scheduling, aircraft router, load planning, airport ops, etc) or have at least 1-2 years dispatch experience minimum. Your application will continue to get auto-rejected regardless of how many recommendations or previous flying experience you have. Due to overwhelming interest for this position, majors can afford to be selective with whom they hire and want to see that you have some previous hands on experience either in their own operation or have real world dispatching experience elsewhere in part 121 / 135.Hello everyone! I’m new to JetCareers and eager to get advice on applying for a Dispatcher position at United Airlines. I have a strong flying background, having flown corporate and charter for several years, as well as the regional airlines for over a year. I previously applied for United’s dispatch position in August of 2024 but received a “thanks but no thanks” email since I didn’t have my Dispatcher certificate at the time, but was scheduled to attend school. I recently just obtained my Dispatch certificate about one week ago. I am preparing to reapply when the next job posting is live. I have a little free time, so I am just trying to be ahead of the game if my application gets selected.
Forgive me in advance for my long post, as many others are new to this, so am I. I would greatly appreciate any tips or advice regarding the application/interview process. I’ve read the extensive discussions on JetCareers about United’s dispatcher hiring process. These are my numbered questions below that I am hoping someone may be able to answer:
1. First, what specific information is recommended to include in my application to improve my chances? I have three internal United references and three external references. I can add more internal references to help my case if anyone would recommend to do so?
2. Second, following if one’s application gets noticed, I understand that there’s an online assessment at home? What are the best ways to prepare for the at home online assessment? Not sure what types of questions might be asked.
3. Third, how to prepare for the online interview at home? What types of questions might be asked?
4. Fourth, if one passes all of the above steps, I understand that they will be invited into United’s dispatch facilities for an in-person test. One has to pass this test to then be offered an interview. It sounds that this test is multiple choice on a computer comprised of 55 questions, 70% or better to pass. What are everyone’s recommendations as to what is the best study source to pass United’s in person test? The ASA green book? I heard the ASA green book is better over Sheppard air. The ASA green book has two options, first being the “test prep green book” or the second option being the “ASA oral exam guide green book?” Can anyone recommend the best ASA green book?
5. The last step is the in-person interview, any tips for the in-person interview? What types of questions might be asked?
6. Last question, I am trying to see if my personal situation does or does not apply to the 6 month “wait rule”. Does the 6 months “wait rule” only apply to those applicants whom fail an in-person interview?
Thank you all for any tips or insights you can provide! I’m committed to making my application as strong as possible and truly appreciate your support. I look forward to hearing from you!

Enthusiastic words.
Thank you for the information, I appreciate it! I have heard from other people, no dispatch experience is required to be selected, and I figured it was worth a shot! But I appreciate your honest information, really, thank you! I would have never known otherwise. To be completely honest the one answer that will most likely help resolve all your questions is this: do not expect an interview with UA (or any major carrier) without prior dispatch experience. Thank you for the information! I appreciate it!Hey welcome to Dispatch!
The best thing you can add to your resume is 1-2 years of dispatch experience at a 121 regional, or 1-2 years of experience at United doing something operations related. There's really not much of a way around that.
Thanks, I have been told many other pieces of information, there was no other way for me to know. I appreciate the honestly! You were a lot nicer than I would have been.

That sounds accurate but do you think it makes sense this interview process would be for multiple classes?Total number is still very fluid. Aircraft deliveries are at a crawl for the foreseeable future. Rumor is only 20-25 have been confirmed so far for the first quarter of 2025. Mostly for attrition and the domicile move out of Willis.
