It will be a while. Either when some other insanely rare, airline catastrophe makes the news, giving the media another topic with which to scare the general public.

Or when the general public decides not to be scared by the media.

Sadly, it's all about the ratings.
 
Fox can come down and report some bird strikes. They can help me clean out the fing fan duct, borescope the engine, package and file what's left of the bird(s), write-up the strike, consider a waiver, and be amazed that the inside of the engine actually looks cleaner now that it's gobbled some cheap wings. I think it's more dangerous for the bird.
