United 777 Engine Cowl Lost (SFO-HNL)

We had a big piece of cowling come off the CRJ 200 years ago. We were in cruise from CLT-CRW and there was a loud bang. We declared, went back to CLT. After landing is when we saw the damage. Smacked the side of the plane so hard it popped the air start panel open. I will try to find some pics.

To be fair, if you’re at that point and still flying chances are pretty good you’re gonna make it through.
