United 2025

Thery had over 800 applicants for the last hiring and only hired a class less than 10 makes you wonder if they go back to any of the hundreds they interviewed in person?

Usually it’s a fresh slate every time.

There’s also the 7-ish that got offers and then had them pulled back after finance revised how many people can be hired for the last class. IIRC those get some preference if they were to reapply for a subsequent posting within a certain amount of time? But don’t quote me directly on that.

Agreed. Although you’ll find that to be the minority opinion within the NOC.
If that does happen, it probably wouldn't be for several more years (I believe the Willis Tower lease expires in 2032?) And it's a very big IF since Illinois will fight hard to keep United headquartered here...I foresee them offering tax breaks, land for development, etc. However, DEN is definitely a possibility, even if it's not a likely one. So my point is, plan on living or commuting to Chicagoland for several years if you apply and get hired.

What are the odds dispatch pushed back against finance changing the class size and loosing 7 people? In theory the class sizes should be set in stone once the post goes live. Too many people in a class and finance cant cover paying them all? Sorry gotta trim money from elsewhere cuz we are hiring them.

All great points. I definitely wouldn't start looking at houses in Smokey Hill or Douglas County just yet. Whatever they decide to do definitely won't be until that Willis lease is coming up for renewal.

That being said.... this was filed with the City of Denver. All it amounts to is a bunch of IF/WHEN type information. But still a nice peek into what could be on the horizon.

Do they hire ppl without dx experience or not

As mentioned above, not normally. They have had a few internals without experience that make it over from scheduling or routing, but I can't recall anyone getting a job here fresh out of school.
