My woman thinks the entire uniform looks stupid and she thinks that I look like a kid playing dress up.
I agree! Nothing, and I mean nothing, looks as sharp as a man (or woman) in an aviation uniform. Of course, I prefer the hat, but to each his own.
I wear a hat too.
The Georgia Highway Patrol officers aren't even allowed to get out of their cars on a traffic stop without their hats on. Not sure if they follow the rules in the more rural parts, but around ATL and the suburbs, you never see one without his hat.
Hang your shirt up in the shower (toward the back...) when you take a shower in the morning before work. That straightens it out almost as much as ironing. Plus, by the time you get to the airport even a perfectly ironed shirt is wrinkled.
 I could give your lady a lesson in what a girl's supposed to do when her man walks in wearing that. It starts with tearing the hat off and throwing it across the room. I'll let you figure it out from there. My woman thinks the entire uniform looks stupid and she thinks that I look like a kid playing dress up.

I don't see why this is such a divisive subject.
Dress like a professional, and as if you would want people to respect you, and you'll do just fine.
Follow your company's established dress code, and if you have to ask 5 people if you look professional. . . then you probably need to just ask yourself "Am I asking these people because I'm being a lazy bastard, or because I've put enough effort into looking professional and proper that I still don't think I've achieved it."
If it's the latter, good job. . .you're doing it right. If it's the former, ah - great - another one of those types.
To me this comes back to people who have had to wear a uniform before, professionally. Majority of us in the flying for a living business spent some amount of time in the military, so we know how to dress professionally, with our own standards.
Trouble is, a majority of the young gun pilots are coming out of school where they could wear their baggy ass jeans and untucked polo shirts around all day, and it didn't matter.
Now *gasp* they have to wear a uniform?
Grow up guys and gals.
*Starts timer* I wonder how long it'll take Em to show up.![]()
I just think it's disgusting to wear the same uniform shirt day after day. Unless I only flew one leg in it, then I change the shirt every day.

The way I see it, if and when I decide to pursue a career with an airline, I'm going to wear that uniform as proudly as I can (as you should!). You guys put in a lot of time for a pretty thankless job and not a lot of money, but I'll be damned if I show up every day looking like it.
As for wearing the hat... I'd only do it if it didn't mess up my hair. </girl>![]()
I wear a hat too.
I disagree, unless you don't shower everyday I don't see the problem. I don't sweat that much either and I wear an undershirt and deodorant.
To each his own. I shower twice a day and wear undershirts, and I would still feel grimy if I wore the same shirt day after day. I'll admit to being a little bit obsessive-compulsive when it comes to cleanliness, though.![]()
