Uniform update?

I just flew a 3 day with a long sleeves FFDO captain and he was pretty chill

I've only flown with one so far, and he was a super chill dude originally from like Dominican Republic or something. Was an LA dude though, who all pretty universally impressed me when I was on reserve and flying with all the cats and dogs. I think this guy lived in Ft Myers or maybe Sarasota, on the water, and commuted. So really FL man :)

Eh, seems like black has a lot more options. And for the guys who choose to push the boundaries of what’s allowed for footwear, it’s probably a lot easier to do with black shoes.

oh I'm just kidding. I don't think brown shoes look at all good with blue or navy blue pants. And I actually have a really nice looking pair of black shoes I fly with that I plan to keep wearing. But this is really gonna make the janitor shoes Captain crowd annoyed
5 Schrutebucks to whomever spots the first AS pilot wearing Xtratuffs (not flying a freighter of course).

I wore black Ariats when QX went to the “blueberry” uniforms…then tried the brown Ariats and it looked surprisingly ok.

Overall, I liked how that uniform fit. The shirts were pretty good, the pants fit nicely/ironed easy, and the blazer fit really well. I just hated the blue.

I’m hoping to get away with pretty much wearing what I wear now and replace the tie. The pants I currently wear are a bit bluer than the originals ever since I had a structural failure in Fairbanks several years ago. I’m not a blazer guy really, but I tried it on the other day and a button shot across the room with such force it nearly broke a mirror, so I guess I could use a new one of those anyway.

I've been a blazer holdout since I started, but I'll admit that I just bought a transition jacket. Not because I think it looks great, but because I'm tired of being the only guy wearing the blazer, and thus not really looking standardized. I guess you can chalk that up to OCD. And I have blown out one of those • blazer buttons before, doing a hard lean over on walk around to make sure the access door of one of the engines was buttoned up properly. Also, can any 737 NG person here explain to me why the panel fasteners look different on the left motor than they do on the right? I can see them on the left, cannot ever find them on the right/#2. ???

The cowl isn’t “sided” for lack of a better term. In other words because the cowl is the same both left and right, the latches are further underneath on the #2 than the #1 because of the way the engine is sitting under the wing.

As a commuter, the utility of the transition jacket is unmatched. Although at that price point I imagine it’s going to be coming apart in a year.

The old ones are Grundens, which I’m sure you’d appreciate as a fellow southeast resident. I’ve tried to find a replacement online but haven’t had any luck. That said, mines been going strong for 7 years.

Wait we used to have a Grundens jacket option?!? Going away from that is just criminal

My corpulent poundage has required me to get the expand-o-waist dad pants at their maximum extension.
