Uniform Cleaning

As long as I can keep the extra heavy starch. :)

:laff:

I had to learn to tone down my starch usage when I started doing Bill's uniform shirts. I'd always done my own, heavy starch, especially collars & cuffs (I only wore long-sleeve shirts). They could practically stand on their own in the closet. Bill, however, doesn't like his to be quite that well-done :D

M&H Uniforms say dry clean only, but I wash everything in the home machine. Gotta love first year pay.

If you wear a blazer, the starch will come off and get embedded in the blazer fabric.

So, don't wear a blazer.....wear the leather jacket. :)

M&H should also come with a tag that says "Caution: This product sucks almost as bad as the customer service."

I've had my current blazer 9 years and its never been dry cleaned. I think it looks fine. My pants...I buy that home dry cleaning stuff...Dryel...and it works pretty good...I use that between trips. I wear the same 2 pairs of pants for about 4-5 months (then buy another two pair). They are only $29.99 at Macy's. Shirts....wash, iron, wear.

A tip....put some laundry softener sheets in your suitcase...it will keep your clothes smelling fresh...and less like a locker room.

I used to put a couple lightweight cedar blocks (about 3"x2"x.5") in my bag, but I go sick of the nosy TSA guys asking, "Whuts diss?" all the damn time.

My bag still smells like that cafe down from the hotel in Paris, right across from St. Michels metrostop. Pew! *COUGH*

I like the cedar block idea ! I have to keep a uniform and an overnight bag packed in my car all the time, those blocks might make the stuff seem like i just took it out of the closet, which would be awesome. Thanks for the replies

I wash, starch, and iron my uniform at home.
Wash the pants inside-out to slow fading.
Oh, and Kiwi 'Parade Gloss' paste wax for your shoes is teh s hit.

Awe, come on now...no blocks needed. A couple dryer sheets in the bag work great for those with bags packed all the time!!;)
