Yeah plus the percentage of hicks from Texas seems to be quite low. The percentage of hicks from North Dakota seems to be...oh... about 101%. We have hicks everywhere...even in CA... think Fontucky and Clantee (Fontana is LA area's hick town and Santee is San Diego area's)... you get the usual confederate flag, 1982 bondoed up Camaro or Ford truck, whitewashed tapered mom jeans, mullet, etc. It's still in existence everywhere

b) texas doesnt even vote majority republican for governor anymore. the last guy to get elected only got something like 35% of the vote, with two independents and a democrat taking the rest.

exactly. yeah theres some country folk in texas, but JEEBUS ive heard more hick music, seen more trailer parks, and witnessed more redneckery since ive been in ND than i EVER saw in Texas.
not exaggerating.
the hick-per-capita is WAY higher here in ND

btw, we don't encourage underage drinking.. not if you want an airline career..all we ask is "don't be stupid"
Underage intoxication in many fields doesnt matter. But at the same time ask yourself the question, if I can hire a guy who is just as qualified and the one has nothing on their records and the other has this drinking citation who would I take? The one without a record. Just make better decisions and it wont be a problem.

Welcome to North Dakota, where social gatherings with dancing and music is discouraged (think $250 first offense Misdemeanor charge, then second $750 fine...any time of the day if they hear a PEEP out of you from 50 feet and if there are two or more people present, it is illegal) and driving while drunk is ENCOURAGED!...$200 initial fine, second fine is only $500. DUI's are so common here that people refew to them as "doo-ee's"...and you're considered a real man if you drive home safely while being very drunk.

Probably because where we come from DUIs actually involve hefty fines that prevent more people from driving while drunk. $10,000 to $15,000 for a DUI in California when all is said and done.

Apparentlly there are other states who encourage drunk driving. Some of the states seem to be civilized to. How could that be? North Dakota isnt even on the list for top 10 drunk driving states.

$1000 is the fine. It doesn't end there. California makes you go through $1000's of dollars of alcoholism classes. You have to return proof of your attendance each time you attend the class - this involves a "$30 processing fee" each time. Then you have attorney fees, court fees, toxicology testing fees, forced donation fees, license reissue fees, and insurance increases.
I had a friend go through this and it wasn't pretty. He spent over $10,000 in the end. Attorney fees just to get his license back so he could get to work was a big expense. You either spend money for an attorney to get your license back sooner or give up working altogether (because you can't drive to work) and lose even more money.

I will take the ND highway patrol "harrassing" drivers about drinking and driving over the LA cops beating you because of your skin colour (real civilized) TX and its express lane for the death penalty (yup, killing is fun), NY cops that unload clip after clip into someone reaching for their wallet (can we say shooting range), etc etc.
