Under-rated airplanes

The Piper Aztruck. You'll run out of room before you reach max gross weight. The wing takes ice like a champ, it's got an airframe like a tank, and it's got a good range. Engine failure is a nonevent and if needed it will loose altitude like a wet brick. You can run both engines off of one electrical fuel pump. The only thing I can't figure out is why the hydrolic system runs of the critical engine and the janitrol is run off the critical side tanks.

Second the Aztruck. Good, reliable airplane. Like Bolo said, you run out of room before reaching gross weight. Done it more than once. It even will fly decently at gross in the middle of summer. Suprisingly, the Aztec is also fairly nimble.

Did my multi ride in an Aztec. Had more fun on that checkride than any other one I took :)

Be18 and the Corsair can't really be underrated because I don't know anyone that doesn't think they are kick ass.

Undecided on whether the Be18 should be listed as under rated... under appreciated for sure... bad reputation it really doesn't deserve as well... but under rated... ehhh... depends on what you are using it for.

I found it to be surprisingly docile for its size and reputation. I also found it to be just as manouverable as light twins half the size of the 18. For me, there is nothing better than a properly maintained Twin Beech.:rawk:

Easily most underrated turboprop. Working with a couple 800+ horse Garretts, this thing was and still is a very able work horse. Easily will do 320 TAS at 270 and climb out of anywhere at 2000Ft/M with 3000 pounds of load.

And the best part is that Bob Hoover could probably pour ice tea while barrel rolling one in the process. :)

C-17 if it isn't rated AAA+ That is one versatile machine.

Had one flying down the beach outside of Rota today, pattern alt, with all her stuff out. Majestic!
