Nope, we need fighter pilots. Who else is going to intercept and or escort airilnes or other planes when they dont respond on the radio or break the rules.

I can see it now, the military orders the launch of the mighty UAV going at maybe 100 kts tops trying to intercept a 747 that's not talking on the radio by a major city...oh im scared. Oh well doesnt matter, since the feds have secretly installed ground to air missle installations around major cities to protect them :crazy:

There will always be fighter pilots. They just might be in a room on the ground flying a UAV armed with guns/missles and can do everything and more than an F-16 would be able to do.

Yeah, one of my best buds just wrapped up 22 years combo F-14 navy and F-15 PDX Oregon, ANG.
I was jealous to say the least.

Are there any civilian UAV operator jobs? Usually, when I think of unmanned aircraft, I think military. Maybe I'm wrong.
