UND A/C Crash

I heard it was a private student on his first solo  but that repert says a crew of two so I don't know. Anyway they lost directional control on takeoff or landing and entered the grass ditch between 35L and Delta taxiway. It was right in front of where I work and they said some outbound jet had to wait for 45 minutes for them to get the plane out.

I know the guy he was pritty freaked out even when we were haning out in the commons in Noren he was quiet and depressed about it, he sai dhes goign udner review baord on Monday, he was put in the ambulance and his CFI she was calm. He said he touched down then all of a sudden he went full 180 to the right into the grass. he notes he notices his right gear a little low during pre flight, other than that he doesn tknow what happend. hes freashman too first landing first solo.

I had heard it was a solo too. That report says otherwise so I dunno. That's second hand information for you I guess. That really sucks, hope everything turns out alright for the guy.

Chris, are your numbers right? Did he land in the grass? Cuz see......if he lands on the rw and does a full 180, then he'd be facing the direction he land from and not in the grass. Better check the e6b. :sarcasm:

Here's a thought, or better yet, a question..... If it was his first solo, according to the FAA/NTSB, wouldn't he be flying on his CFI's ticket? Just a question.

well since you know so much, go talk to Jimmy hes in the first floor other wing below me :). HE told me he touched down he MUSTHAVE applied too much break on the right or left pedal and jsut went 180 and ended up on the grass.

Dude....Relax....It was a simple question. Did you miss the :sarcasm:... I was just curious as to what the CFI's responsibility would be in the eyes of the FAA/NTSB.

BTW, what are you still doign in GFK? I thought you were headed to ATP?
