Um, yea, there's something wrong with the room

Probably has more to do with it being a Scarebus than a bigger plane. . .

I have no problems with height, altitude, or even looking down from a great height, so long as I have a functioning parachute and know how to use it or I'm in something that can make decent landings. Even then, due to the risk of a sudden stop at the end, I'm not likely to head out to test a functional parachute.

Now the last JC'r XJT'r to come through the great city of Atlanta. . .at least let a couple of us local guys know.

;)

Maybe next time right?

What a wierd thing to see Van.....

It's not so much the fall, but the sudden stop at the end that scares me.

The 15 foot expanded metal stairs end a foot below the main deck L1 door, then another rickety ladder to climb to the upper deck....definately not my favorite part of the day....

Many (most?) pilots are afraid of heights.

I don't have the classical fear per se, but I guess you could say that I'm "hyperaware". ;)

Perhaps pilots are more keenly aware of man's lack of wings. If you're high up, you're just supposed to have wings, plain and simple.

35 foot rockclimbs and my legs are shaking like thumper on bambi. 12,000 msl and at 45 degree high wing turns are for a great view!

Try being a linenman. Climb a 40ft utility pole at 2AM, depending on two 1" spikes, belt and your hands to keep you from falling. Its called gaffing, don't gaff out!

I'd rather fly, much safer!

I have ridden ski lifts and gondolas in the Alps, been bungee jumping, and even stood outside an airforce airlifter while doing 300 MPH 1000 feet off the ground. None of that made me more than a little nautious.

This sucker made me feel like yakking on the ascent.

I think I've got a cure for pilots who are afraid of heights:

If you can survive this "walkway" you will never be afraid of heights again. :bandit:
