Say, hypothetically, a pilot gave herself a non-bleeding ulcer because of overzealous NSAID use ([HASHTAG]#thanksinfluenza[/HASHTAG]). She grounds herself until symptom-free. A follow-up endoscopy reveals (1) her reaction to sedation is, amusingly, attempting a dramatic escape of the medical facility, and (2) the ulcer’s healed. How would she go about dealing with this with the FAA? Wait until the next medical and bring the endoscopy report to the AME at that time, or does an entire medical reapplication need to happen before flying as PIC? I know the doctor’s not around this forum anymore, but this is somewhat a general procedural question and I hope that maybe one of you fine JCers can help this hypothetical pilot out.
