Well it is obvious that the CA doesn't know anything about crew resource management.

That cup of coffee should have been handed to the FO before they hit the turbulence.

Send that person back for more training.

Interestingly enough, nearly every description of turbulence intensity/severity that I've heard in the 121 world involves coffee.

No captain in his right mind would ever hand anything they were going to injest to anyone junior to them. Likewise, never stand at a crosswalk or go down an escalator in front of anyone junior. You just can't trust those SOBs!
