The ugliest and by FAR the worst airplane I've ever flown.

Same here. I can't believe I've survived that horrible aircraft.

it was called Hawaii 5-0 when i was there.

Yeah, I flew her in 2002/2003. Dispatch was calling her Malibu Stacy at that point. Did you have her in Hawaii or when were you up here in GFK? She's in FL now with some God Awful worse paint scheme.

LOL...Oddly enough she was a mechanically sound bird and everything worked including the air conditioning. The only two systems that were permanently removed were the Oxygen system so we were stuck low level all the time in it and the autopilot.

It was a great plane to break into 135 with and a very stable instrument platform. I would have to say the nearly 2500 hours hand flying Bandierantes has served me well.

The other downside to the strait tail bandits was the elevator sat in the propwash and buffetted at all times. The later bandits had a dihedral in the tail and it solved the buffet problem.

Yes, the right prop is feathered... the hard part about landing a multi-engine seaplane with one engine out isn't the landing... it's figuring out how taxi to shore with one engine at idle (pretty much impossible)! Better hope the dock is on the upwind side of the lake...'course the view from the inside is better than the outside:

Ya thats the T-6 and a Grumman Albatros.

I am trying to think of an uglier airplane in my logbook...

I think this one is absolutely gorgeous, but a bunch of people have called it ugly.
