UFO Encounters/Stories

KVNC

Florida Man
After watching History Channel all night about "encounters" with UFO's and what not, I started to wonder if anyone has ever had an experience with the subject. A good friend of mine, who has been flying long before I was even born told me a story he had with an unexplainable object while flying. While skeptical, I see no obvious reason to not believe him. I know many fear the "crazy" stigma while talking about this subject, but I figured I would ask anyways seeing I find it both interesting, and entertaining. Any good stories out there?

This one time, I awoke in a panic. There was a hazy light in front of my face and I had no idea how I'd gotten there. Last I recalled, I was at FL190 headed from some godforsaken place in the midwest to some godforsaken place on the east coast. Eventually I realized that I'd fallen asleep, my contacts had gotten dry, and it was the overhead panel I was looking at, but for a second there, I was screaming "nanu nanu!" True story. Sort of.

yea that's how the greatest plane ever made (MU-2) will bite you in the butt :)

I read this as I was starting a coughing fit. I possibly sharted as I was laughing hard and coughing. Thanks.

You will find VERY few people that make their living flying who will be willing to discuss stuff they've seen. It's a pretty quick way to have your medical yanked.

I have never seen anything.

However, two years ago, flying the machine in my avatar, I was trying to do a low save (about 500 feet AGL) over a bean field as a last ditch effort to keep from landing out.

Well, apparently someone on a near by road was watching this silent weird looking aircraft cranking around in a 60+ degree bank turn, slowly getting higher, than eventually darting off in another direction.

The police were able to link it to the soaring competition going on, which I thought was very suprising. I got loads of "crap" from officials and other pilots joking about me being some sort of a space alien for the rest of the week.

That's nonsense. Highly doubt anyone will care if you claim that sort of thing, as long as you don't show up to work with tin foil wrapped around your hat! Heck, you probably could even get away with that, these days...

The truth, though, is that there really is not anything out there, E.T., that is "visiting" us, IMO. I have flown all over the world, at all hours of the day and night. I've seen some pretty amazing optical illusions, that, IF I was really wanting to believe, or had not had the background in analyzing things using a scientific process, I may have believed were some type of spacecraft or other, but, in the end, I was able to sort out what I was seeing, and it was always of this world -- every time.

:yeahthat:

I remember seeing something very very odd coming in to CLT and exclaimed "wtf was that?" The jumpseater saw it too, wide eyed and everything. Our description were about the same. It looked spherical, metallic and fell straight down at terminal velocity. Size between a beach ball and a volkswagon. Not a clue what it was.

Uh huh. That's what you want us to believe.

You fly for Janet, don't you?

Janet? They don't exist. You heard nothing. I was never here.

They're the guys who fly the 737s around the spookier parts of the West on government contracts, including a certain place in New Mexico...

Oh yes, now I know who you're talking about. Flying looked kind of boring, actually, but the weather is good out there most of the time!

I posted this in another UFO thread.
Recently I saw something odd. It was at night and very clear out. I was outside having a smoke and looking up at the stars and such when I saw it. It was black and circle shaped. It caught my eye because the area it passed under was covered up as it cruised over. I lost sight of it over the mountains behind my home. I have no clue what it was. I shrugged it off as some sort of balloon or blimp since it was about that size. However, not very realistic considering a blimp would have busted all tpyes of regs flying that close to a mountain side. Maybe a late night hot air balloon ride? Who knows.

I don't have a UFO story, but the strangest thing to happen to me was a primary object that wouldn't leave. I never saw it despite many turns, several altitude changes and eventual 360s just trying to see him.
TRACON was baffled too because it was always behind me, shadowing me whichever way I turned.

Yea, I'm watching it now, pretty interesting. I like how the one UFO hunter guy never takes his sunglasses off.
haha

i liked the airspace diagram. apparently theirs a gap between the airport ant the "bottom" tier?

hahah

Ive seen some strange lights before. I was flying over SNA one night with a student at about 2 AM and saw a light making a circular motion. I asked ATC if there was any traffic and when i told the controller about the light that we saw, it immediately disappeared. It almsot seemed as if they ("it") heard my query to ATC. 5 minutes later it appeared again, made a couple more circular motions, then disappeared again.

I hope I dont loose my medical for that! lol
