UAL Pilots Sentenced to Jail Time in Glasgow

I don't know what the idiotic religious theocracies have up their garb. Nor, frankly, do I care. I don't go there, I don't want to go there, and I have no need to go there.

Oh, I thought you were saying all ICAO countries were the same. Maybe best if you stick to purely domestic flying.

Think of it as the equivalent of best Belgian beer you ever had versus Miller lite.

And yes, USAF/zoomies school is the Miller lite!

The Norks will be rendered powerless by the shock and awe of all of these purses being chucked at them at once. Might as well just call that one.

No, that's not quite what I said but whatever.

Guess I'm just used the AF spoonfed approach to travel of "you're going here so you need to know this" presented in everyone's favorite powerpoint or bullet format. I would think if someone sends you someplace, they should give you the lowdown before you go. I'll just go stick to doing my mostly isolated domestic flying while you stick to asking for ride reports and wind checks. :)

That's the difference. Civilians are supposed to figure it out on their own.

As for the ride reports and wind checks, well, I keep telling those ex AF types to quit asking and grow a pair, but all I get is grumbling about how they miss the spoon feelings. Had one bitching the other day about how no one tells him to "Check gear down" anymore. He wanted to know how he's supposed to do his job if some E-3 on the ground isn't telling him what to do constantly.

:D

Wait, we're not supposed to confirm gear down to tower? Damn it, you think someone would mention that to me after 12 years...
