UAL Pilots Sentenced to Jail Time in Glasgow

I have questions... so as First Officer, I have a co-pilot?

Don't mess around with the booze clock in Yurop... they will get you over there.

Quite often actually! Sometimes two.

:p

Best I've seen is a .425 BAC, and the person was somehow still alive, and driving. Arrested for DUI, of course.

But then you're stuck with them at the hospital, because the jail won't take them when they're extreme DUI like that.

The person never did go to trial.

Jesus...something that high has to be the result of YEARS of high density training.

Not to downplay what happened, but 10 and 15 months seems pretty harsh. These guys would do better getting treatment somewhere, not rotting in a Scottish prison for a year.

A person is drunk in Scotland? And this is somehow news?

Frankly it's more newsworthy if a pilot "doesn't" get drunk in Scotland on layover.

Water is wet....sumthin sumthin

There are times where I will have maybe one beer or small glass of wine and get a hangover. This adulting thing aint no joke.
Agreed. If I drink 2-3 beers... I end up with a headache in an hour or two. It doesn't even wait until the next morning for me.
