UAL-Goose Bay CA diversion

Looks better than the hotel that NWA put me up in Thailand when an engine/wingtip/something that could not be duct taped on fell off the plane and had to be flown in from Tokyo. Hot food, safe place, shelter, and a bed (not a corner on a concrete floor) is all you need. I would not have passed up a beer either.

Seems like UA had trouble on some of their over the pond flights that day. The flight to Amsterdam before my late night flight to FRA returned for Hydraulic issues and people were angry that they had to be rebooked on my flight. I should have yelled at them saying they were lucky the did not spend the night sleeping in Canada! I was more annoyed the plane landed at 3pm and no one decided to clean it until 10pm which made me miss a few connections. (But I survived, did not need a selfie stick to say what a hardship it was to be stuck in that place).

As a frequent traveler (and yes 1k), you know when to speak up and know when to shut up. Or you should. Something like this is more "yes I am annoyed that we had to divert, I am sure everyone else is annoyed they had to divert, including crew, so by complaining how do I change the situation? Oh wait! they have a Ritz with a roof top bar that I can enjoy some Macallan while my G650ER (too good for the GV!) to arrive." with the realization it was only for the Global Services people who shoved their kids in Coach having the fashion emergency as a way to inflict pain on the other 99%. Ill enjoy that warm beer instead, thank you very much.
