Well, HP refers to piston aircraft so unless you have a type in a piston a/c then no HP endorsement is needed. Just like not needing a complex to fly a jjjjjjjjjjjjeeeeeeeeeeeeeeettth (I said that in my best caneman voice).

Usually jet power is measured in pounds of thrust, not horsepower.

[7500]Anyone here typed in the DC3? Anyone know where, how long, how much to get a DC3 type?Jets are not the only airplanes that require type ratings.

Yes, but if it isnt turbo prop or turbo fan, it's probably a piston, thus having a rated horsepower, like a C/G-TBM, or at least thats how I see it.Jets are not the only airplanes that require type ratings.

But they don't require a HP endorsement. Some turboprop engines are measured in shaft horsepower.

I stand corrected then.Since when?

No, really I'm asking. I had always read it as "an engine of more than 200 horsepower" but there could be a legal interpretation out there I'm not aware of.I stand corrected then.
Well if we're talking about SHP then we really don't know what the horsepower of the engine is, do we?No, really I'm asking. I had always read it as "an engine of more than 200 horsepower" but there could be a legal interpretation out there I'm not aware of.
...is there?:dunno:
I've definitely been wrong before...just ask my wife.

Yep. I think they're two excellent questions. Make ya think.Which is why I was asking the questions. Some people have some definitive opinions on the matter.
