Twinstar ME flying.

True, but I thought they fixed that problem? I read in the latest Flying magazine about the "jump start" incident in Europe that caused the loss of both engines on takeoff, but there was a comment about having that problem fixed.

Yeah, they haven't "fixed" the problem. They simply sent out an AD saying that BOTH engines are not to be started on ground / external power. Which is, a silly thing to do anyway. But, those Austrians are crazy mofos. :)

That KSAV I believe

Bingo, lol.

I have been there a few times.....Dinner at a Ruby Tuesdays or Applebees about a block or so away...

Rog. What's funny is when ATC asks us what type of plane that is. . .and we tell them.

What's even funnier, is when an airline crew hears us on the frequency . . . and sees us touchdown and are wondering what type of aircraft we are. . .

It's nice explaining that it's a new plane, and looks like something out of Star Trek. A lot of interested airline guys quizing us as we are rolling out, lol.

Killer pics! Can't wait to get into one of those. I almost popped for the bucks to take a "lesson" while I was there... Spent enough, tho... so I didn't!
;-)

Sweet plane indeed. Too bad I don't fit in any Diamond planes (6"7"). :(
True dat..... I'm also 6'7" and I'll have to do my ME training in the DA42. The canopy hits my head before it closes. They do have a different canopy on the aerial observation version of the aircraft and that looks like it would be a better fit if I ever got around to buying one.

Oh well, according to the chief CFI I can get the rating done in about 10-12 hours.

:sarcasm: in 3...2...1...

Thats what the guys say at my fbo, it sounds like something to lure you in, almost worked for me...:D

Actually that sounds about right. I was signed off for my multi with less than 9 hours in the Seminole. I did get some time in the Frasca Seminole FTD which I suppose helped a little, but it was only 4-5 hours.

Well, hold that thought......

I may be doing the multi in something else, I will hopefully know more about that in a week or so, but I think I have a chance at finding a Seneca wet + instructor at about $150 less per hour than the TwinStar.

Yeah, I'll take that in a heartbeat.....

1) Yep. SAV looking to the SE.

2) Yep. the VOR was moved a few years ago from the SC swamp ;-) to just north (and a tad bit east of the CL) of the approach end of Rwy 18. If you miss the VDP to 18, you can be level with it.
