Damn southern Californians inserting "the" before freeway names. :D

Been on that road many times, the news had an aerial pic which was pretty cray cray.

As a side note, all the freeways we have, I wish they would have finished the one along the Embarcadero. It's kind of redonkulous to have to weave thru the streets of SF to get to Golden Gate Bridge when you're going to the North Bay. Takes way too long.

It's a straight shot on 19th.

They had a double-decker freeway on the Embarcadero. Apparently it was called "State Route 480," and was torn down following the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake.

And you make it sound like you're weaving through all the side streets of Chinatown, but 101 to Van Ness to Lombard really isn't that bad. :)
I've read all about that on a wiki tanget once. It seems like everyone I know in SF lives in Sunset so I'm on 19th all the time, it can easily take 30 minutes to go the few miles from 280 to the Golden Gate in traffic.

Get a motorcycle!
Used to take me 2 1/2 hrs to get from sfo to the other side of the bay bridge in traffic. My bike cuts it down to about 45 min. :)
I've really considered it for that reason and because they're cheap and don't use much gas. But I know myself too well, I'd die.

Hey, it's sort-of a picture I took of RHV … in the back there. I went up with trafficinsight last year for the bay area tour (thanks man!).
