turboprop vs. jet time (all 121)- do majors care?

Jet Vs. Turbo prop. I would say no if it is a Dash 8, Q -400, EMB 120, Saab or any other large turbo prop. (Most of those 30+ seat commuters.) Not sure if flying the B1900 is always a problem either. (Isn't that how Doug got his turbine PIC?) Though aircraft weight seems to be a consideration these days. As mentioned Jet Blue has the 20000 # "ish" rule & I think a few others might. (Southwest?) With that said, there were numerous SkyWest EMB 120 Capts that went over to Contenental. (Lot of the Houston guys.) Others have gone to SouthWest or Fed Ex. I don't know all of their situations, but many only had turbine PIC in the EMB 120.

Time and time again I have been told that Beech 1900 PIC is as good as CRJ or ERJ PIC time (I am still not 110% sold on that yet, in todays industry). We have had guys go on to Continental, AirTran, Jetblue, North American and Southwest recently. Some directly off the Beech. When all the majors were hiring we had guys go to UAL, DAL, NWA, UsAirways, and AA. This was at a time were we had like 4 Saabs.

well guys, i am having a good source of mine ask around the hiring guys at fedex and ask about what they are looking for. From what he has noticed as an md-11 capt they are now hiring people directly into the right seat of the 11 that have the "right" background- meaning what they were flying before, and how much time they had. I am hoping to have more details tommorrow, I am sure some may want to know the current fedex hiring pool is looking like. And my source is good, very good, but i wont drop a name.

How about Tulia, TX. Ever been there before?
I flew my boss to Tulia one day. He went to look at an art gallery (yes there is an art gallery there, and it is really nice). I bet very few on here have been to Freona, TX. I fly to a lot of those small west TX towns every month.
