Is time flying a turbocharged (piston) aircraft considered turbine time? I assume no, but not sure...
yeah, sure thing. log that T206 time as turbine and submit it on a job app. Worse they can do is laugh, right?
I saw an episode of "Junkyard Wars" a couple of weeks ago where they did this. The teams were challenged to build turbine-powered dragsters. I think they used propane to fuel their machines, but can't remember for sure. You CAN make a jet engine out of a turbocharger, though. I saw a few examples homemade out of big diesel turbos.
What about the 210 silver eagle?
100$ if you can point to the turbocharger on that airplane.
Like how the first breathlyzer was called a drunkometer. All of this could have been avoided with better naming - If they used "turbine-prop" instead of "turbo-prop". Coming from the time period it did I'm surprised it's not called fast-o-matic!.

Wasn't it originally called a jet-prop?
I saw a Cessna Conquest the other day with Jet-Prop written on the engines. There is also a company called Jet Prop that does PT-6 conversions.Wasn't it originally called a jet-prop?
