Tulsa to Jax in a 172...

Ermagerd. If you go to Gulf Shores and eat at a freaking Lamberts chain, you need a little cultural exposure. There are several AMAZING non-chain seafood restaurants that will knock your socks off. Cosmos, Cobalt, Sea n Suds, Nolans, Original Oyster House, etc.

Why is Lamberts so engraved in peoples brains as a good place to eat?? The 3 or 4 times I've been there the food has been...meh.

Peach State in south ATL (if that's along your route) is a grass strip with a nice restaurant on the field. There's also a museum dedicated to the old days of KATL, but I can't vouch for that myself since I haven't been.

There is a place in Auburn called Diareah Pete's. You can't miss it. You smell it from a mile or so away. They have what are called Glop Dogs. They're just like hot dogs, but the opposite. Once you're done eating you had better get ready. It's like old Pete says "it won't be long from chew to blew."

Yeah....... or you could do something else. :aghast:
