Tuition reimbursment

This is a joke, right? :)

We're lucky we get paid, let alone tuition reimbursement.

Eh, serious. Since I'm gone from Honeywell next week school is again expensive.

But I *thought* that I read or heard somewhere that XJT has tuition reimbursment.

If it was true, wanted to find out who else offered it.

We don't have it. Mainline here gets it but their schooling has to be related to the field they are working for the company in.

You'd think that regionals would provide TR, they don't seem to want people sticking around making the minor leagues a career.

Offering TR would allow people the ability to even begin to think about moving on up, and not retire from XJT and the likes.

Which regional airlines, if any offer tuition reimbursement as a benefit?

Thanks in advance!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Wow, I mean I don't know what to say......
You know I'm not laughing at you Max, right? But seriously bro, you know enough about the industry to know that tuition reimbursement and regional airline are like oil and water. I have heard deep dark rumors that Scenic used to have some sort of tuition help program way long time ago. Very funny post though.

Honestly, I'd be kind of bugged if they did! It's the general suggestion of this board to get your degree before your ratings, that's what my husband did, so I'd rather see the regionals use any resources they have financially, to reward ALL pilots through the most amount of pay they can give them, instead of financially rewarding only those that didn't get a degree first!

Well, due to life and choices, not everyone can or will get their degree before entering into the industry.

All that matters is that you get it, and tuition reimbursement would help.

But oh well, guess the government will own me even more with stafford loans!

If they started degreed pilots out at a higher salary, and all pilots were at a respectable salary, then maybe I could see some TR in exchange for a employment committment, instead of you getting a degree and then heading to the majors. However, since all pilots, degreed or not, are on equal pay, then I would definitely be bugged by more financial benefits for those who didn't get the degree first.

Even better!! :)

Max, have you thought about tossing boxes over at the south cargo ramp for UPS? 20-25 hours a week and good tuition bennies.

Hell, if it isn't a felony to walk the Salt River along 07R/25L. When I start my new job next Tuesday, I could walk there in 10-15 mins!

:laff:

Good one! Tuition reimbursement...for pilots! :) :) :)

But Max, ain't it a little interesting that 'circumstance' would preclude someone to cranking out a degree (time? money?) but having the time and money to learn to fly an airplane? :)

What I plan to do is post training transfer all my flight ratings to college credit. Finish up a few general ed courses and with previous classes/credit taken, Max is done!

Last I checked I had like a lil more than 80 credits. Towards a 120 degree credit req.

Hoping it doesn't take longer than a year to finish, I want no more than two to be done!

I want to be a widget!
