I'm going to go out on a limb here and say THREE elections were unnecessary, and make the dilute and make pointless to the line pilot the voting process.
First "vote": Nominate officers to the "ballot"
Second "vote": Choose a pilot for each "position" CA Rep, FO Rep, Sec/Tres
Third "vote": Select a Chairman and Vice-Chairman from the CA and FO Rep winners....
That is wayyyy too much. I don't vote three times in a Presidential election.... I am only involved in the "who will it be" part.
That needs to be overhauled, desperately. There shouldn't be a nomination "vote". There should be a session, in which you can nominate, and people present will say "yay" or "nay" to each potential nominee.
For the "final" election, you should choose who you want for CA Rep and who you want for FO Rep, and who you then want for Chair and Vice Chair.....
THREE different ballots?!?!?! Good God.
Actually, I totally agree with you on this. It's hard enough to get people involved w/ the voting process. Then, we go and slap 'em in the face three times. We're almost finished w/ the process over here in my LEC (CJC 157)....it's unnecessarily lengthy. I'm actually interested very active in the whole process and it's making my head spin.
Then, when all that is over, we're gonna be sending out the contract negotiation questionnaire to get a pulse on the pilot group....here's to hoping we can get some involvement on this one. After all, if ya don't participate, you can't bitch.
Oh, on topic.....good luck to everyone at TSA!
