TSA background check

I am a UK citizen and was recently hired by a regional airline. I had to go through the Alien Flight training program to allow the TSA to determine whether or not I was a threat ot aviation and/or national security. THere is a 30 day waiting period in which the are supposed to provide an answer, which for me has come and gone and they still will not tell me whether or not I can begin training. It is frustrating because the people I interviewed with, started class 10 days ago and best case scenario I wont start class until the end of June, which puts me three classes behind the guys that interviewed with me in March.

Has anyone gone through this process and had similiar experiences? I have tried to contact them but they essentially dismiss my urgency. Any suggestions, comments?

I haven't yet registered with TSA but I am planning to do so in the near future. Thanks for letting me know that there is a 30 day period. I am not sure of a solution for your problem, but all I can suggest is contact the flight school first and let them contact TSA for you. Good luck, and I hope everything will work out just fine.
 
The 30 day waiting period starts after you pay the fee, submit your fingerprints and the training provider certifies that you are indeed intending on training with them. You can count on at least a month to get all that accomplished, and then add at least another month for the 30 day waiting period.
