We've chatted 'bout this before, long story short my uncle drives for a major beverage company (non-alcoholic), home every night/day too. It took him almost ten years though to move up from 3rd then 2nd and now 1st shift.
One of my Dad's cousins bought two trucks on credit back in the late 70's. He was wildly successful for awhile, but grew to fast, blew a lot of money, and racked up a lot of debt. It all came crashing down when gas prices spiked. Definitely a work hard, play hard, go big or go home industry.
