Trip to 'Nam

Went to Vietnam for 6 days last week...JS'ed from SEA-HKG-SGN to get there...then DAD-HKG-SIN-NRT-SFO-SEA to get home. Pics below...Vietnam is an amazing country, full of history/culture and a desire to get past what it's know for to most Americans. Taxi's, food, drinks most anything is on the cheaper side...you can go as big or as little as you like. I booked a king suite for $40-50 at a 4 star resort. Ask any questions if you have them

It was terrible, but so were the flights direct to the US. DAD-HKG for 9 hrs, HKG-SIN for 5.5 hrs, SIN-NRT for 4 hours, NRT-SFO for 3hrs. I slept till 3.30pm today. Oh so worth it, memories of a lifetime.

Didn't make it Hanoi as planned ...the Captain that flew me from HKG to SIN did time at the Hanoi Hilton. Great guy to chat with.

Talked to a Cathay Captain/Check Airman in Da Nang...started at Cathay at 30 on the L-1011, made Captain on the same plane at 33...had great stories.

Wow, this is amazing! Its funny because I'm Vietnamese and have never stepped foot in my motherland. All I hear are stories. These pictures make me want to go even more. I just hope in the near future I can use my flight bennies to do this. Thanks for sharing!
