You'll notice that this trip is high in away time, low in paid time... though I guess 8hrs pay out of 47 TAFB isn't that bad...

Yeah that is not very productive at all.

Here's a question for you. I notice the outstation report times are 30 minutes prior to departure.

Do you really show up to the curb 30 minutes out? If so that is fine, but if not, wow they should make it 45 so you don't get jipped on rest time.

No that's our gate report time.... but I'd rather not make it 45. Because our report times are all gate report times and that would HOSE us on rest.

A 4:1 rig (which is what CAL has, and seems to be in the popular rance for those airlines that have a rig) Pays 6 hours for every 24 away, so that would be a 12 ish hour trip.

Is that a trip that was built for the bid packets or split off from something else?

We could certainly use a rig around here. Lineholders would obviously benefit, but especially us lowly reserves. For instance, I now have a 5:47 credit 3 day next week. Yes, you read that right. 6 hours of pay for 3 days of work.

Right.

This is the actual trip.... looks like they robbed it... so really, your credit is 21 hours out of 83 hours TAFB

No that's our gate report time.... but I'd rather not make it 45. Because our report times are all gate report times and that would HOSE us on rest.

It really depends on the wording. I know in the TA, it was 45 minutes for international show AT CUSTOMS. I did like that part of the TA, and I hope it stays there. But Rex is right. 30 minutes or 45 minutes, it won't matter since it's all show at the gate, not the airport. If it were a 45 minute show at the curb, that would be different. You'd have time to stroll into the airport, go through security and grab some food before you had to be at the gate to board. All while not in "rest." The way it stands now (and would if it were changed to 45 minutes without altering the show "position") is van drive, security and anything else you do up to getting to the gate are all considered "rest." Personally, I'd like to see a 45 minute prior to departure show time in the hotel lobby. Then that 8 hours of RR stops in the lobby instead of after you've been at the airport for 15-20 minutes because you had to take a van at the top of the hour.

At XE you'd get a whopping extra 12 minutes for that 1st day (2 hour DPM).

Wow, what great work rules. lawl. :banghead:

4 day trips must be worth at least 15 hours. There's no corresponding clause for shorter trips.

you get a 3 hour DPM (daily credit) for any "calender day layovers" (day at a hotel with no flying, not including out of domicile reserve assignments, hard)

There is a 2 hour DPM for any day you fly at all (soft i.e. gets reduced by overs)

Block or better leg by leg pay based off brake released to main cabin door open.

Pay protection for greater of original trip or modified trip in case of mid-trip changes.

That's it in a nutshell as far as trip rigs. The most bizzare thing is that there is a 3 hour credit for a day at a hotel but only 2 hours for a full day at work in which you worked (for example) two 45 minute legs. I don't think I'll ever understand that one. I've not broken guarantee in about a year though so none of it matters too much to me right now.

Is it bad that some people consider that to be all, and I'm looking at that thinking I'd kick my mom in the teeth to get that? I'm on a FIVE day worth a whopping 10 hours. Oh yeah, and day five is my day "off." We're overstaffed, but myself and at least two others have been extended into their days off 2 days ahead of time. That's not a sick call, that's open time not getting covered. If it were a sick call, they wouldn't have done it 2 days in advance.....

mmm, yeah, I'd say that's bad - for you :p

A 10 hour five-day is obscene. I'm sure they managed to work plenty of 5 AM shows and 4 hour sits in there too.

I would like a 5 hour DPM credit for flying and calender day layovers. To me that's a fair number. That would put the daily rate for an RJ captain at about $300-$400. That's still a great bargain for the airlines, in my opinion.

That is awesome!! At ASA it'd be 11.67

Same thing at Skywest--3:45 MDG for the first and last days and 4:10 for the second. That's only for lineholders as an awarded trip, though. Reserves don't get the MDG until they credit over 75hrs...then they get 3:45 or actual credit (whichever is greater) for each day they were on reserve (whether they flew or not). That leads to some 5 hr 3-days for them. Breaking guarantee is awesome, though--I credited more my two months of reserve than I have since.
