Trevor Jacob v2.0

Couldn't hear where they were taking off from but the mentioned Encino and Tarzana, so I'm guessing vny.

Given that they're listening to the KVNY ATIS, I think you win this round, Red Baron.

As to who does this kind of stuff, do any of these passengers strike as you as people who are in danger of splitting the atom, anytime soon?

I'm at the point where I want a full-on autocracy. These people shouldn't vote, they're the reason Democracy doesn't work.

Clown-shows for clowns and people who dream of being clowns. Put em on an island. Call it Florida. Close the border. Shoot anyone who crosses it, no questions asked.

I took my brother up years ago after I got my PPL and just putted around doing slow flight stalls and told him there was something seriously wrong with the airplane and we may have to find somewhere to land. Do I feel bad about pranking him like that? Nope! That look on his face and how quickly he went pale was priceless.

Lol, because I totally never shoved the nose down out of nowhere over various metropolitans when I was younger shouting "ALLAH AKBAR" to various groups of startled friends, I shouldn't judge. I mean, I didn't think the video was very funny just because meh, but it didn't offend me the way reckless stunts do. But guys are stupid. Put stupid guys in their teen years or early 20s in airplanes (or towers, be they ramp or FAA), and stupid things happen. But usually off-camera. I'd bet money that a lot of people on JC have at one point, probably in those tender years, pulled some kind of irresponsible prank in an airplane that they won't admit here. I know this because I've been present for some of them. So lets get off our high horses and let them sober up and drink some water.

I highly doubt the average person is offended by this video, nor that it is worth the FAAs time. Worry about the Air Wagners of the word that are gonna kill people, not this.

I did plenty of stupid car with cars and motorcycles, and occasionally maybe an airplane.

You know what what I didn’t do? Invite members of the general public along to make them think they were going to die.

Geeze man, like you seriously don’t see the difference?

Anyone who claims they didn't do some dumb ish in airplanes when they were young is either lying or not someone I want to talk to for longer than five minutes. But, as per above, this is A) publicizing the thing, B) the entire point OF the thing, and, most damning, C) either terrorizing randos or pretending to terrorize pretend randos, neither of which is cool or funny. It's "humor" for unusually dim 12 year olds. Which would be dumb but expected and I guess fine (or at least not something to be Outraged about) if they were using a skateboard, but uh they're not.

Were they ever really in danger tho? There are plenty of established TV shows and web series that have pulled pranks where people legitimately thought they could die. No public outcry. This just happens to be in a plane.

I try to adapt to the modern world. The comment section of that video says I've done that, as obviously these days the average person takes things at surface value then keeps scrolling with no festering afterthoughts on morality. Obviously for me with my essentric life and struggle to blend my hoodrat side with my aviation resume, I like where this trainwreck is headed, so don't expect me to cast stones lol. You can fight the impending Idiocracy or you can carve a life out of it.

The dumber everyone else gets, and the more these dumbass videos spam the web, the more normal I become.

Just my opinion. You carry on.

The Feds tend to pin "Careless and Reckless operation of an aircraft" onto almost everything.

When I went to the "big brown desk" in Atlanta over some BS that happened when I was on break, they tacked that on every charge.

"Didn't flush the terrrrlitt: CARELESS AND RECKLESS OPERATION OF AN AIRCRAFT OPERATING UNDER CFR 49.121"
"Didn't wash hands after pooping: CARELESS AND RECKLESS OPERATION OF AN AIRCRAFT OPERATING UNDER CFR 49.121"
"Discovered I was an ASI and not a ACI and ceased fawning upon me: CARELESS AND RECKLESS OPERATION OF AN AIRCRAFT OPERATING UNDER CFR 49.121"

Man, I could write a book on the numerous dumb stuff I did that was extremely dumb and dangerous. Jeez I'd have certainly gone to jail. Not in an airplane though. The amount of stupid crap I did when I was playing music on the road. Once we had a 4 week tour with a few other bands and a bandmate brought a taser (not the gun type but a hand-held one). He said it was for protection because the last tour he got robbed in San Francisco. Well, it didn't take very long for the boredom of hours of driving before someone in the van got a hold of that taser. I got zapped in the thigh, neck, underarm, feet and stomach all in one week. The funny thing about getting tazed was that if you had to pee and got zapped, you went in your pants. When our 6 foot 4 tour manager and friend got a hold of it he would hop out of the van first when we made pit stops and he would start zapping us to see who had to pee. The horrified look on random stranger's faces at the various rest areas when they saw him doing that was hilarious. We're all running from him yelling "I don't have to pee!!! I swear!! Ahhhh" then laughing hysterically when someone got zapped. I'm surprised we never end up in jail.

Or just young people in general. I remember being at a college party (maybe even at my own house?) on Halloween '02, and there was a commotion outside in the alley that somehow caught our attention......it was one dude dressed as the twin towers, and another chasing him around, dressed as an airliner.

As an aside, young people are cray. My wife sent me a transcription of the conversation she had with our 4 yr old earlier today:

her: Wyatt, why did you swallow your gum again?

him: My tongue was too slidey and then it slided into my swallow hole

definitely gonna drop "swallow hole" into casual conversation tomorrow

Thank god for young people, even college students, for the entertainment they provide us
