Travel to FMN?

I know that MAPD gives out non-rev passes to get to FMN,but is it just from the PHX/ABQ area or is it from your closest commercial field.

I can get to PHX on my own,but we only have one flight a day....and I really don't want to beg America West for a seat.

BTW does anyone know if the loads are better outta PHX or ABQ to get to FMN?
 
ABQ probably. When I flew to FMN from ABQ, it was like me and two other guys. They have I THINK three or four flights a day. I'm pretty sure they only give you non-rev priveleges from a Mesa city to FMN, so that REALLY limits your choices.
 
You can ride any America West flight and Mesa Air Group flight - there's now 2 flights a day from PHX to FMN, and there's 1 or 2 to DRO, Durango, which is a 40 min. drive to the north of FMN. I'm not familar with ABQ, as I've not flown commercially out of it ever.

The FMN flights are all B1900's, but the DRO flights are a CRJ 200 and a DHC-8, and you'll have a MUCH better chance of getting on those.

Riding standby, you'll be an S-3 or S-4, which is basically the lowest on the todem poll. I ended up first class from Orlando, FL to PHX (yep, first class with food and all!) on an AWA flight, then hopped the Dash 8 to Durango, after getting bumped from my FMN flight.

This works for any AWA flight, be it mesa or AWA.

Edit: I can't find 3 departures from PHX to FMN. They added 1 on Sept. 1, but I guess they've done away with it already...

Yeah, forgot about Durango. Worst case scenario you can always drive from there. It's not far at all. Why did ya fly out of MCO? Do any flight training in the area?
