Travel Management Company union drive...

The NMB has approved the authorization of a union drive today. From what I understand 70% of the pilot group voted to authorize a union drive. I'm guessing votes will be cast in the next couple of weeks and the results should be known right around Christmas.

Yeah, and from what I understand, they work a 15/13 schedule. I'm sure having 13 hard days off in a row is nice, but not when you're being worked like a slave for the 15 days in a row you're "on."

I hear they are not paid for the days that they don't fly but are on the 15 days on.

I hope this works out for the TMC pilots. Unionizing can go either really good, or really bad. But like someone else said earlier, TMC is a company that deserves a union.

I'd much rather have "rolling rest" vs sitting around FBO's all day on "hot standby". The one time a year getting a call at 0200 to do an ASAP is much preferable to sitting all day on a couch that smells like popcorn and stale farts listening to NetJet pilots bitch and complain.
